What to include
A useful report is one we can reproduce. If a calculator number looks wrong, send the state you picked, bedrooms, occupants, soil band or perc rate, system type, what the tool showed, and what you expected. A screenshot of the readout is enough if typing it out is a pain.
If a table, a citation or a cost range is off, name the page and the figure. A link to the code, extension bulletin or price source you are looking at is the difference between a guess and a correction we can ship. The about page is how the tables are sourced and what happens to the numbers you type in.
What we can help with
- A bug in the septic tank size calculator, the cost calculator, the drain field size calculator or the pumping tools.
- A published table that does not match the code or extension bulletin it cites.
- A page that is hard to read on a particular browser or phone.
- A question about how a number was derived, as long as the answer is already on the page or in the cited table.
What we cannot do
Septic Tank Calculator is a sizing and cost reference, not a designer, not a pumper and not the county. We cannot issue a permit, inspect a yard, diagnose a wet drain field from a photo, quote an install, or recommend a contractor. Those answers come from a licensed designer and the health department that will sign the permit. Use the tools to walk into that conversation with a figure, not to skip it.
